Girls' Empowerment Curricula
The Global Women’s Institute (GWI) is pleased to collaborate with the Malala Fund on a resource guide and toolkit that amplify Malala Yousafzai’s message and her call for education as a human right.
Malala Resource Guide
In response to Malala’s memoir I Am Malala, GWI convened a group of interdisciplinary faculty to develop the theme-based curriculum I Am Malala: A Resource Guide for Educators Designed primarily for university students, the resource guide carries Malala’s message of learning, equality, and action into the classroom to inspire young women and men. GWI was excited to host Malala’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, for the launch of the resource guide in November 2014. You can read more about this project here.
Malala Toolkit for After-School Clubs
In collaboration with the UN Foundation’s Girl Up program, GWI has adapted I Am Malala: A Resource Guide for Educators as a toolkit for after-school girls clubs. The toolkit is contains more activities and less reliance on the content of Malala Yousafzai’s memoir, while maintaining the educational integrity of the original theme-based curriculum. The toolkit content has been finalized and is currently in design by GW’s creative services team.
