GWI Launches 2nd Round of the GBV Five Minute Science Fair!

October 29, 2015

Are you a researcher working on gender-based violence (GBV)? Do you have a completed or in-progress project for which you'd like support? Enter the GBV Five Minute Science Fair now!

The Global Women’s Institute and the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) have partnered to promote safe and ethical research on GBV.  As part of the global 5-Minute Science Fair competition, we invite you to tell us about your research project relating to GBV in a five minute video clip.  Share the type of violence you will be researching and why you chose it, the target population and your justification for studying this group, your methodology and any of your existing data, why your research is important to the field of GBV response and/or prevention, and how you plan to disseminate your findings.  A sample script to guide your presentation is available here.

The videos which attract the most followers will become our top ten finalists!  Three videos will then be selected by an expert panel to receive a cash prize of up to $1200 USD toward your research.  You can record your entry through the We Share Science website or contact GWI at gwomen@gwu.edu if you need help filming. Entries will be accepted through until March 1, 2016!
