Malala Day 2015

A virtual campaign to promote girls' education
July 12, 2015
Malala Yousafzai is a courageous advocate for universal education and girls’ rights. On July 12, 2013 – Malala’s 16th birthday – she delivered a speech on global education, her first public appearance since being targeted by the Taliban for her commitment to girls’ education. Malala Day, observed this year on Sunday, July 12, 2015, is a day to stand up for the rights of all children to receive a full, free, and adequate education.
In celebration of Malala Day, the Global Women’s Institute is hosting a virtual campaign throughout the month of July. On this very important day and every day, we must work together to strengthen the call for universal education.
