New Position: Seeking a consultant for GBV-MHPSS project (Global + East Africa)
GWI is seeking a consultant to support survivor-centered practices when providing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to survivors of gender-based violence in humanitarian settings. This work is undertaken through a project funded by USAID’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance to address critical knowledge gaps and the current lack of consensus on safe, effective MHPSS interventions for GBV survivors and those at risk, by collaborating across MHPSS and GBV fields of specialization in order to generate an agreed set of guiding principles and best practices.
The main components of the consultancy will be co-leading a regional-level consultation meeting to support and inform the consensus-building process and Delphi study, planned for November 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya; and co-leading development of guidance products following the consultation and in preparation for a validation meeting in 2023. For this reason, the ideal consultant will be based in or near Kenya with expertise in GBV and/or MPHSS in humanitarian settings, as well as strong facilitation and writing skills. The consultancy is expected to start in September with two days of onboarding (dates flexible) and continue through March 2023.
The deadline for applications is Friday, September 16th. Instructions for applying are in the TOR.
